BBC Studios Showcase 2021 - Virtual
Event Overview:
BBC Studios Showcase is an annual international bespoke event running across four days, showcasing BBC Studios content to an audience of 1000+ international TV executives and buyers. Immersing guests into the brand and content slate on offer via a range of premieres, screenings, panel sessions, talent Q&A, presentations, networking events, branded activations and gala dinners with a live high-spec production.
My Role:
My key roles consisted of the ideation, facilitation and delivery of a range of branded activation solutions for premium BBC Studios titles and joint lead on the logistics and production for the content premieres and screening programme.
Due to Covid, in 2021 BBC Studios Showcase went completely virtual, streaming live across 4 days, in three different time zones. The programme consisted of a variety of bespoke content premieres, talent interviews, presentations and panel discussions, and the option for buyer’s to talk directly with the BBC Studios sales team. I was joint led on filming of the premiere content showcase and panel sessions, hosted by talent. Initially scheduled to be filmed studio based, this was abruptly changed and all filming has to be completed remotely. Within a limited timeframe, we succeeded in bringing in a new supplier and reconfiguring the rehearsals/live recordings to deliver broadcast quality sessions, all within the deadline.
End Result:
BBC Studios showcase has a world class reputation, making it unmissable and a must attend event of the media industry event calendar. The standards required for the planning and delivery of this event each year are always exceptionally high. For each project assigned, I have effectively collaborated with internal and external teams, partners and suppliers, and delivered to a high-spec. I have always achieved event objectives and hit stakeholders briefs, on brand and within budget.
